Field of Light by Bruce Munro
Sensorio’s first and largest exhibit opened in 2019. Field of Light showcases a display of 100,000 stemmed spheres that glow like beautiful jewel-toned flowers across the hillsides. The lights are powered by 93 solar panels. Visitors walk among the fiber optic stems, which shift in color and move slightly in the breeze.Light Towers by Bruce Munro
Debuting in 2021, Light Towers features 69 towers of more than 17,000 wine bottles that are illuminated with glowing optic fibers. The colors dance to a heavenly musical score, paying tribute to the area’s numerous local wineries. Each tower holds more than 200 bottles and stands taller than the average person.Gone Fishing by Bruce Munro
Unveiled in 2023, the Gone Fishing exhibit shows off 30 semi-circular arrays each with 25 multicolored fishing rods. Each bloom is threaded with fiber optics, which softly illuminate the surrounding hills while paying homage to the peaceful activity of standing by a stream.Fireflies by Bruce Munro
Artist Bruce Munro was inspired to create this whimsical exhibit by two of his favorite books, Kim by Rudyard Kipling and Siddhartha by Herman Hesse. Opened in 2023, Fireflies is made up of close to 10,000 points of white light that float and sway organically on optical fibers in the breeze.Dimensions by HYBYCOZO
Sensorio’s newest exhibit opens in May of 2024. Dimensions features large-scale metal sculptures that explore the relationship between light and music, shadow and pattern, and environment and form. The immersive audiovisual experience was designed by artist collective HYBYCOZO, the collaborative studio of artists Serge Beaulieu and Yelena Filipchuk, in cooperation with renowned musician Alen Hulsey, who performed and composed the 33-minute musical soundtrack primarily on the kanun. Visitors are invited to play with spinning interactive elements and notice how their own shadows become part of the art as they move through the space.Paso Robles’ Sensorio exhibit is less than a 40 minute drive from Avila Beach and well worth the trip. In addition to the magical exhibits, there is a food court area with food trucks, fire pits, lawn games, a live entertainment stage, and an indoor bar.
