Visit the Avila Beach Wine Trail


Aside from sun, sand, shopping and fine dining, the quaint and beautiful town of Avila Beach is also home to the Avila Wine Trail, boasting family-owned and operated wineries and tasting rooms that offer vintages which represent the best of the Central Coast.

The region’s wine venues are marked by a casual, relaxed and beachy ambiance surrounded by the beauty of the rolling hills of Point San Luis and the Avila lighthouse. Wine tasting tours are an enjoyable way to experience the Central Coast. The trail offers a diverse array of wine and tasting room options from Italian-style Barberas to robust Rhones, Spanish-influenced Tempranillos and rich Burgundies and Bordeaux.

Morovino Winery

Located just steps from the ocean, this beachfront winery features Italian-style wines with bar seating and a wine-lounge acrea, which showcases an evolving gallery of fine art by California artists. The Artisan winery crafts blends using premium grapes from Santa Barbara County and include fruit from some of the area’s most prestigious vineyards.

Peloton Cellars

Award-winning wines and cycling décor make this the spot any night of the week. Peloton Cellars’ sustainably, self-farmed vineyards produce quality wines, from well-balanced reds to crisp refreshing white varietals. Meticulously crafted from bud break to the barrel, all of the wines originate from California’s Central Coast wine region.

Alapay Cellars

A mixture in Avila for nearly two decades and the largest winery in the area, the cozy, ocean-themed tasting room is a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the high-quality and hand-crafted French-oak barrel aged wines. With grapes harvested from the premium vineyards on the Central Coast, the winery produces all types of wines, from reds and whites to dessert wines and sparkling cuvee.

Avila Wine Company

Watch the Pelicans fly overhead on the stone laid patio at this hip and fun wine tasting bar and shop on Main Street. Specializing in quality small production, hard-to-find wines from the Central Coast, every type of wine style and price point is on stock. They also carry wines from Northern California, Oregon, Washington and some International wines, as well as Epicurean coffee roasted by a local coffee roaster. Craft beers and small bites are also available.

Sinor-Lavalle

One block from the sand in downtown Avila Beach, the tasting room founded in 1997 specializes in wines grown 1.2 miles from the Pacific Ocean at the owners’ estate Bassi Vineyard near Avila Beach, in the heart of the San Luis Obispo Wine country. The wines naturally reflect their pronounced coastal terroir, and include Pinor Noir, Syrah and Chardonnay.

Kelsey See Canyon Vineyards

Tucked away in See Canyon just a short drive from downtown Avila near the apple orchards, the winery is known for its award-winning wines, and apple-grape blends and hard ciders. Indoor and outdoor wine tasting options are offered on the property, which is also home to more than 200 wild peacocks and lawn games.

Pierfront Wine and Brew

This beachfront Avila bar serves 90 different wines, including both local and international wines, and beer on tap. Sit and sip on the outdoor patio or in the "beachfront living room" while dining on a variety of delicious appetizers and chocolate pairings. Board games and live music are also on the event calendar.
